Making it relevant

Hello again. Here is a quick up date on what we are doing in the Listen Learn Love group. We are researching ideas from pregnancy & parenting magazines and books. We want our book to be more relevant to young parents, with lots of good advice but not boring.

Here is a sneak preview on some of our pages in process; this shows a page on morning sickness and the start of a page on having your first scan. We’re really enjoying putting the ideas together, and it’s really making us think about what makes good advice, not to just filing the pages unnecessarily and what are the things which have been most important and useful to us in our first year of parenting. As a group we decided that support is the most important thing, whether it’s from friends, family or fnp, midwife etc, take all help that is offered!

News from  Listen Love Learn (young parents workshop at Quad)

We have been lucky enough to be granted funding to create a book of advice from young parents to other young parents. We have been researching using magazines and books to see what parenting advice we like and don’t like, some of the things which have happened to us as young parents don’t happen to other parents; there needs to be books which help other people who experience what we have been through.

The book will look at everything from pregnancy to birth, morning sickness to smoking, things to do with your baby, things to make, housing advice. We will start adding sneak previews soon, watch this space.

We have so much to tell you about, things we have already done and things in the pipeline, therefore we will be adding and updating each week.
