ARTS COMMUNITY HEALTH PARTNERSHIPS
ARTS~REVIVE – Raising awareness of health in the community through using the arts.
The Revive Healthy Living Centre programme was initiated by Derby Primary Care Trust (PCT) to address community health needs in the Chaddesden, Derwent and Breadsall area of Derby. It was a community centred and community driven programme focused around the development and construction of a new centre, a new way of delivering services, developing social enterprise and promoting health through community health projects. The building opened to the public in early 2007.
Derby City and Derby QUAD secured funding for one year to enable Revive to deliver their Arts~Revive programme. The project coordinator, Charlotte Convey, was able to develop a range of exiting parnterships with artists, health care practicioners and local people.
During the year the programme developed numerous projects which: created permanent art work for display in the building; created performances, presentations, exhibions and activities for the opening of the centre; and held regular arts clubs and groups in the centre.
It was here that partnership working started with the Family Nurse partnership to improve the health and quality of life of vulnerable young parents. (See our young parents page).
Engaging people from babies to those in their 80′s, Arts~Revive was insirational in proving that the building had something to offer them.
